We are not the kind of people that ONLY want to sit on the beach, we love doing outdoor activities; with a 3 yr old it’s been a challenge, but we are ready to give it a try.
Any recommendations for a typical 4-5 day itinerary that can include some outdoor activity, some relaxation, some site-seeing and some fun for my toddler?

I looked into it and the travel agency told me about a place called Playa del Carmen. Is that a nice area there? And how far a the famous pyramids (mayan) from there? Because they also offered some 1 week roundtrip on a bus that takes you to places in the region. So I was thinking if you can also take those trips yourself in local buses from the hotel or if that’s too far?
